German Salad

With this recipe comes some information about my background. 🇩🇪

This recipe is based on one of my mom‘s ❤️recipes who is German. I was born and raised in Germany and moved to the US after I met my husband Josh (he was stationed in Mannheim, Germany with the US Army) in 2006.

My husband and kids love this salad and Josh calls it “German Caesar Salad.” It’s made with Greek Yogurt, which is lower in sugar and higher in protein than regular yogurt. Greek yogurt is also a healthy alternative to sour cream and mayonnaise.

If you’re interested in more healthy 🇩🇪 recipes, follow my posts because I will share some around the holidays...🎄🎄🎄

1 Boston or Bibb lettuce 🥬 1/4 cup shaved Parmesan 🧀

Dressing: 1/4 cup Greek yogurt 1 1/2 tbsp olive oil 1/2 tsp 🍎 cider or white balsamic vinegar 1/2 tsp dried parsley 1/2 tsp dill 1/8 tsp garlic powder Salt & pepper to taste

Combine ingredients to make dressing and mix with the lettuce. I usually make my dressing in a large empty salad bowl and after combining all ingredients, mix the lettuce in.

I sprinkle some salt free garlic herb seasoning on top and add some chives or green onions.

This will be enough for a family of 4️⃣ and is delicious with my Turkey Vegetable Chili.
